Week Two relfection

In reflection of week two, I enjoyed watching the videos of the three scholars discussing action research and found their insights interesting. I feel that their discussion is very important for us, educator to take an opportunity to hear their suggestions about innovative ways of doing the research on campus. The scholars discussed action research methods for teachers and school leaders to identify students’ need, particularly through data collection and sharing teacher input. Dr. Chargois expressed support for data-driven research to identify student needs for greater instructional support toward positive achievement outcomes . As he explained that teachers can engage in action research by using qualitative data to examine students’ performances, determine the factors potentially impacting their performance, use data from academic research and assign teacher teams working collaboratively to develop effective resolutions for various issues. The effective teachers put in the effort to do research and produce outcomes to improve student achievement.  I realize the benefits of using of data-driven research helps bring out best practices among educators as they try to meet ultimate goals in student success. I will use action research on my campus to thrive the excellence for deaf education.
